A JOURNEY FROM CHINA TO AUSTRALIA

I have always been passionate about politics. In primary school, my mentor advised me, “It’s better not to be a CCP member, but as a member of the Shanghai Democratic League, I can speak freely with less fear.” This opened my eyes to the possibility of freedom of speech through political engagement, even in Communist China. However, my father’s tragic experience of being labelled a “Black Element” by the CCP during the Cultural Revolution made me more cautious.
Following my father’s advice, I chose to pursue a career in architecture instead of politics. I built a successful career in the building industry while maintaining my interest in politics. As I raised my four daughters, I began writing the novel *Nuclear Power, Nuclear Game*, which further sparked my interest in politics and global affairs.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO ADVENTURE FEDERAL POLITICS

Since the Gold Rush, Chinese Australians’ contributions have been vital to our nation. Yet, we are still waiting to see someone from mainland China break the status quo and appear in federal politics, and introduce a fresh and insightful viewpoint to Australian politics.
My experience of living under the communist regime has instilled a profound appreciation for Australia’s freedoms and opportunities, My integrity, substantial business expertise, and my personal journey fighting for social justice equip me to advocate effectively for positive change that benefits all Australians. I am ready to drive positive change for all Australians. Together, we can forge a future that is inclusive, equitable, and prosperous Australia.
